Here are some other topics that peak my interest and, I hope, will yours.
The buzz everywhere is the mind-body connection, the Law of Attraction and thoughts become things. There's a lot of information to be had through books, seminars and the internet. I find it all fascinating - especially as all this information has been cycling through time after time since the beginning of time. I firmly believe in everyone becoming their own healers, their own advocates in improving themselves, in taking control of their own lives and I'm not above sharing my favorite methods with anyone who is interested. I, also, love to hear what others have found so that I can explore that, too. So this page is devoted to ideas that I am exploring in order to become my best self.
Self-I-dentity Ho'oponopono
I am continually reading about, researching and practicing spirituality and more and more am becoming aware that all my experiences - wanted or unwanted - are my responsibility. In order to come to terms with the not-so-welcome experiences, I have started practicing Ho'oponopono and have gotten some interesting results. Ho'oponopono is a self-help methodology that removes the mental obstacles that block your path, freeing your mind to find new and unexpected ways to get what you want out of life. To learn more about Ho'oponopono, go to www.hooponopono.org or www.businessbyyou.com where you can learn more about this wonderfully easy method of finding peace in your life. Another great site where you can download Ho'oponopono meditations and music is www.thereisaway.org - this site also uses another one of my favorite methods of clearing problems tied to emotions known as EFT.
Emotional Freedom Technique
This is a powerful new discovery that combines two well-established sciences so you can benefit from both at the same time: 1) MindBody medicine and 2) Acupunture (without needles). Otherwise known as the Tapping Method, you can clear a lot of your emotional blocks that keep you from healing both physically and emotionally. You can find out more about the great technique and download the free manual on how to do it at www.emofree.com .
My 2 favorite EFT sequences that I do most mornings and evenings can be found at Brad Yates' site www.bradyates.net - Tap of the Morning and Tap of the Evening. If you want to have a great day and a great sleep - begin with these 2 sequences which can also be found on youtube.com. There's a plethora of videos there done by very good EFT practitioners -such as Robert Smith - where you can tap where they tap and say what they say on almost every problem under the sun and get surprising results! Highly recommended!
My most recent find is a web-site dedicated to children and EFT in the schools - www.imagr8kid.com. I very highly recommend everyone who has children in their lives to go to this site, sign up in order to access the free videos available on the site for children, their parents and, even, their teachers. I began using EFT with my youngest grandson when he was 6 months old and having a bad day with teething and he now, at 22 months, often will ask his Mom to tap for him - mostly at bed-time. My daughter taps on positive things he can expect - ie. a good night's sleep, fun with his friends at his day-home. At times, he even taps for himself on his Tappy Bear. The sooner we can introduce children to EFT, the sooner they will feel in control of their own lives.
I, also, have ordered this book for my grandkids - "The Power of Your Child's Imagination" by Charlotte Reznick, PhD. You can check it out at her web-site www.ImageryForKids.com. There are so many ways to assist your children in being their best selves, if you are willing to jump in and help your kids grow themselves.
I am wanting to introduce as many people as possible to this woman's marvelous work. She has co-authored 3 books with David Feinstein PhD - Energy Medicine, Energy Medicine for Women and The Promise of Energy Psychology. The basic premise of energy medicine is, simply, that energy is all there is. Energy is the prime mover of all we see and know. This understanding opens you to a new way of taking charge of your health. You change the energy and, over time, your body has to respond.
It's important to remember that energy medicine is an inside job and, as you do the exercises from her books, you begin to feel a difference as the energy begins to shift within you. How do you do this? First, by understanding that the energies most pertinent to energy medicine seem to involve the body's electrical energies (at the cellular levels), electromagnetic energies (meridians, chakras, aura) and "subtle" energies (energies known of but not measurable). Following the exercises in her books, you stretch, tap, trace and massage various points on yourself to allow space for the energies to move. What happens? Quite simply, you begin to feel more energetic, lighter, more vital, more in charge of your own health. And what could be better than that?
